Madness Combat 5.5 Madness Combat 5.5

Another Krinkels-fest with a row of 10s...

With applause for Sean Hodges or whoever composed the music, I find myself once again wondering what you were doing with your time while you continued to post teaser pictures - everytime after a new one comes out I whisper to myself...

"This isn't it, there's a secret ending button somewhere. Or maybe, maybe he lied and he was actually using the extra time to start working on the next one so he wouldn't be overwhelmed by responses later on"

And every time I find myself slightly more disappointed, all of the time you put into this "apparently". I trust you have a civilian life, I understand that. But it seems each and every time, the only reason for the extended delay is simply you attempting something new, rather than impress me I get a new camera angle or a new gun, rather than new elements to the character or the plot or new enemies or more coherent tactics.

Take for example the jump from Apotheosis to Depredation - HOLYSHI, the clown went psychopathic and got super powers, completely unexpected, utterly lethal, it had all of the right components.

Now let's take the jump from 9 to 5.5, Sanford and Deimos are the first "new" protagonists introduced, we get to see Hank bigger and better, the Auditor takes a rather ACTIVE appearance and Jesus's halo thingamabobber, and we see new MAG agents. The flash is decently long.

And then there is 5.5, which despite your claims that you just wanted to release it but "kept adding to it" makes me wonder how long the flash would have been before you posted that on your blog? Another, much much shorter failure? Another attempt to show off your animation skills at the expense of a lengthy action-packed episode, with new enthralling details that just make me want to watch more?

Indeed.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into this - I was a kid when I first watched this and I shrugged off rumors that the series was "pointless violence" that got repetitive and unfunny after awhile. I really tried not to think that, but maybe that's what really adding to the fact that 5.5 was just another "teaser" straight to the ending.

Ha, i really hoped that the ending message was actually a joke and the flash would continue - all I had really gotten out of this episode was a view of Tricky when he appears to actually be powerful rather than just silly and diabolical, as he should have been, and a few "previously" unseen things that you just keep slapping into the series. Not to mention the fact that this Flash went by EXTREMELY quickly, the pace in all honesty was just too forward, there wasn't any build-up or anticipation, heck, you didn't even show how they assembled their looks in Episode 9.

Oh but let me guess, you're going to prove me wrong when Madness "6.5" comes out and its TWICE as short as this one, correct? Giving every last one of these faithful little sheep another "glance" at ultraviolence and maybe, just maybe, extend the message that the series is actually going somewhere and not being completely half-assed.

Well...I can say firmly this was a let down. This wasn't going to be another "You're so awesome, Krinkels" review because frankly I highly doubt you deserve it anymore. I'm sure you're already aware of the criticisms of this series, subpar it may or may not be, so I'm sure the other little technical specifics have already been made clear for you.

5/10 because overall for what it was supposed to be it was well animated. But apart from another small diversion away from any sense of plot, surprise, or anything that grabbed me in the previous 8 installments, there was nothing else to it. Sanford and Deimos's adventure was a meaningless side story for me, I'm sorry I ddin't get anything else from this. I really think you're just beating too far around the bush man, you've lost your charm.

Hope to review you again at Madness 6.5.

There's some debate, but overall people find this review helpful

Dude?
I keep hearing stuff about some game, but how do you unlock it?
I've watched the whole thing, I even dregged through the credits three times, and I see NO PASSWORD.
What is it?

Do You Guys THINK before you submit?

It's obvious from the title it's of poor origin.
It was filled with nothing but white screen for me, your comment led me to believe it was bad. I reloaded the screen at least 5 or 6 times, I got nothing but a picture of some weird cat.

May this be blammed.

GoldenClock responds:

ahhaa a weird cat? quit making stuff up
